PVC Diaphragm Valves
Diaphragm Valves are used for shut-off and throttling applications that use liquids or gas. A Diaphragm value is made with a body, or valve, with two or more ports, a diaphragm, and a saddle or seat that allows the diaphragm to close the valve. They can be manual or automated, and come in two main categories of diaphragm valves. The first type is weir, or saddle, and the second is called a straightway valve that seals over a seat. The weir, or saddle version, consists of two ports in line with each other located on opposite sides of the valve and is most commonly used in throttling or on/off applications.

The straightway consists of in and out ports that are located at a 90 degree angle of each other and are used for on/off applications. The body of the valve is available in either plastic or metal, and is lined with rubber or plastic or unlined depending on the temperature, pressure, or chemical resistance needed for the specific application. Common applications where this type of valve is used include food and beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical dosing, control of pure and ultra pure media, and water treatment.
