Valve Types

Check Valves

Check Valves allow flow in one direction and prevent backflow automatically, protecting pumps, filters, and downstream equipment. Available in ball check, swing check, and wafer check styles in PVC, CPVC, brass, stainless steel, carbon steel, cast iron, and ductile iron.

Butterfly Valves

Butterfly Valves use a rotating disc to regulate or shut off flow. Their compact profile makes them well suited for larger pipe sizes and tight installations. Available in PVC, CPVC, stainless steel, cast iron, and ductile iron, with lever, gear, or actuator operation.

Gate Valves

Gate Valves provide full-bore, low-restriction flow when open and a tight seal when closed. Designed for on/off isolation rather than throttling. Available in PVC and brass.

Diaphragm Valves

Diaphragm Valves offer precise flow control and isolate the valve internals from the process fluid, making them ideal for corrosive, abrasive, or high-purity media. Commonly used in chemical processing, water treatment, pharmaceutical, and food and beverage applications.

Foot Valves

Foot Valves are installed at the bottom of a suction line to maintain pump prime and prevent the line from draining back when the pump is off.

Actuated Valves

Actuated Valves combine ball or butterfly valves with pneumatic or electric actuators for automated on/off or modulating control. Available in PVC and CPVC for integration into automated process systems.

Valve Materials

PVC Valves

PVC is the most widely used thermoplastic valve material. It is corrosion resistant, lightweight, and cost effective, with a service temperature rating up to 140°F. PVC valves are compatible with Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 pipe and are available in the broadest range of valve types and sizes in our catalog. Select models are NSF 14 certified for potable water.

CPVC Valves

CPVC handles continuous service temperatures up to 200°F and provides superior chemical resistance to acids, bases, and halogens compared to standard PVC. CPVC valves are the standard in chemical processing, hot water systems, and industrial applications that exceed PVC's temperature limits.

Brass Valves

Brass is a durable, versatile metal suited for potable water, compressed air, steam, and general-purpose plumbing. Brass valves handle higher temperatures and pressures than thermoplastics and are commonly used in residential, commercial, and light industrial systems.

Stainless Steel Valves

Stainless Steel provides excellent corrosion resistance for demanding environments including food and beverage processing, pharmaceutical, marine, and chemical applications. Stainless steel valves offer higher pressure and temperature ratings than thermoplastic or brass options.

Carbon Steel Valves

Carbon Steel is built for high-pressure industrial service where strength and durability are the top priorities. We carry carbon steel check valves for heavy-duty process piping.

Cast Iron Valves

Cast Iron offers high strength and pressure resistance at an economical price point. Cast iron valves are commonly used in water distribution, wastewater, fire protection, and HVAC systems. We carry cast iron butterfly valves, check valves, and gear-operated valves.

Ductile Iron Valves

Ductile Iron adds flexibility and crack resistance to the strength of cast iron. Ductile iron valves resist impact and corrosion better than standard cast iron and are used in water and wastewater infrastructure, fire protection, and large-diameter piping. We carry ductile iron butterfly valves, check valves, and gear-operated valves.

Cast Bronze Valves

Cast Bronze is a traditional material for marine, steam, and hot water systems. We carry cast bronze ball valves.

How to Choose the Right Valve

Selecting a valve starts with three questions: what is the system carrying, what are the operating temperature and pressure, and what function does the valve need to perform: on/off isolation, backflow prevention, flow regulation, or automated control?

For water, wastewater, and chemical systems within moderate temperature limits, PVC and CPVC valves offer the best combination of corrosion resistance and value. For higher temperatures, higher pressures, or systems with metal piping infrastructure, brass, stainless steel, or iron valves are the better fit. If you need help narrowing down the options, our product specialists can walk you through it.
