Schedule 80 CPVC Pipe

Your Schedule 80 CPVC Pipe Supplier

Different Sizes of CPVC pipe Schedule 80 CPVC Pipe is produced from a specialty blend of CPVC material with unique physical properties desirable for process piping applications (i.e., improved impact resistance and fire resistance capabilities). CPVC piping systems can handle more than three-fourths of the temperature/pressure requirements of today’s typical process plants. Schedule 80 CPVC is primarily used in commercial and industrial applications. Unlike PVC, CPVC is able to handle hot water applications up to 200°F.

CIS supplies a full line of Schedule 80 CPVC pipe for industrial piping, water treatment, chemical processing, and hot or cold fluid applications. We carry the most trusted brand names in the piping industry:Georg Fischer Harvel, IPEX, and Charlotte Pipe & Foundry. Our team strives to negotiate the best prices for each individual quote. Common Applications for CPVC Pipe Use

Schedule 80 CPVC pipe is most often used due in chemical processing, hot water transport, and other high pressure / high temperature applications. The thick, schedule 80 walls of these pipes can handle more demanding applications that schedule 40 pipes. The 200°F temperature rating allows schedule 80 CPVC to compete with copper piping in many areas.

Our Schedule 80 CPVC is IPS (iron pipe size) and available in 1/4” through 24” nominal sizes. Our pipe comes in 20 foot lengths (10 ft. lengths optional) and is shipped via freight truck to your job site. CIS will gladly arrange shipping or pickup at one of our many distribution points nationwide for your convenience. We also carry a full selection of cpvc fittings that go with our cpvc piping for complete industrial piping system needs.

CPVC Pipe Pressure Ratings

Schedule 80 CPVC pipe pressure ratings vary based on pipe size. The largest size (24") has a pressure rating of 210 PSI while the smallest size can hold up to an impressive 850 PSI. The larger the size, the lower the pressure rating, due to comparable walls of smaller pipes having comparable thicker walls. Also note that threading of this pipe causes a 50% reduction in your overall pressure rating. CPVC pipe is commonly chosen as a piping system due to its high temperature rating of 200 degrees Fahrenheit. All our CPVC pipe meets industry standards and is NSF approved for potable water service (NSF-61).

CPVC Pipe Temperature Resistance

For pressure piping applications it is recommended for temperatures as high as 200°F (93°C) when appropriate temperature rating factors are applied. As the pipe diameter and temperature increases, the pressure rating of the product decreases. For example, 1/2" Schedule 80 CPVC pipe is engineered for continuous service of 850 psi at 73°F (23°C). The same pipe in service at 180°F (82°C) carries a maximum working pressure rating of 210 psi at this temperature. 6" Schedule 80 CPVC pipe is designed for 270 psi at 73°F, and 54 psi at 200°F.
