For Commercial & Industrial Use - High Grade Check Valves

Check valves prevent backflow in a system. They do this through many methods. Some are swing check valves, which have a simple swinging disc. While many have a single disc and very straightforward operation, others have dual discs that swing on a central axis. While many different types exist, they all have one job: to prevent fluid from flowing backwards. Carbon steel check valves are durable, withstanding high pressures and temperatures with ease. An important factor to consider when purchasing a check valve is the amount of pressure needed to open the valve. When the differential pressure required is high, there can be pressure drop when passing through the valve. For some applications this may not make a significant difference in the outcome, but there are many instances in which pressure must be kept constant.

Different parts of a check valve can be constructed out of different materials. Just because it is called a "carbon steel check valve" does not mean that all of its components are made of that material. The seat is what makes the seal between the disc and body; it is usually made of some type of rubber. The disc is the main part of the valve that prevents water from traveling the wrong direction. Discs are often made of stainless steel, due to its strength and corrosion resistance. View our full selection of carbon steel check valves below.
