Ocal conduit is the absolute best on the market. It's the reason we only supply one brand. We believe in it and would use it ourselves. When it comes to Ocal PVC coated metal conduit you have two metal choices - steel or aluminum. Steel is very strong, but it is also heavier than aluminum. For this reason, some engineers choose aluminum. Weight becomes an issue especially if the job calls for large size conduit.
Ocal from Thomas & Betts has 1/2" through 6" size conduit in dark gray, white, and other colors. Standard is dark gray, which looks almost black. White PVC coated aluminum conduit is often chosen for pharmaceutical or food processing applications. Other brands may make a product that looks similar, but they don't come close to the quality and standards Thomas & Betts infuses into their Ocal product.
