Camlock fittings are also known as cam and groove couplings and quick connect fittings (cam lock quick connect). These fittings are used in all kinds of industrial applications around the world, and they are commonly used for hose attachments. Common uses range from chemical to pharmaceuticals and foodstuff. Usually made from solid metal materials, camlock fittings are designed to quickly attach and detach using an adapter and a coupler.

This quick lock system makes them ideal for fuel and other potentially hazardous applications. We have camlocks available in three different material types: aluminum, polypropylene, and stainless steel. The type of media you will be handling is the main determinant in the material you choose.

Camlock Parts

There are eight basic camlock parts. Each serves a unique purpose. They are each named after a letter of the alphabet ranging from A to W. Coupling and adapter parts are used to easily attach hoses and pipe to liquid pumps. Simply open coupler arms and insert adapter. Close the two arms by hand to lock the joint. There are three basic types of adapters and three basic types of couplers.


Camlock Types

The three types are female thread, male thread, and hose shank. To determine which parts you need for your application you need to know what you will be connecting the camlocks to. If your pipe or tube end is a male threaded end you need a female thread camlock adapter to match. The same goes for your coupler end.


There are also dust plugs and caps which are used to seal off lines when not in use. Dust caps have locking arms and take the place of a coupler. Dust plugs are like adapters. They have no arms, but unlike standard adapters there is no hole for flow.
