Why Use CPVC Ball Valves in Your Application
Because these valves are made from CPVC, they are more durable and able to resist corrosion better than those made from standard PVC. CPVC stands for chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, and is able to handle higher temperatures than that of a traditional PVC valve. This means it can be used in chemical processing and manufacturing plants where high temperature liquids and gases need to be transported. In addition, the stronger CPVC material allows these valves and the systems they contain to withstand a higher pressure. This makes these valves popular for firefighting, power washing and other high-pressure situations.
CPVC ball valves allow these systems to have a quick shut off when needed. They also resist corrosion better than PVC, so they are often the valves of choice for highly corrosive chemicals. This durability makes them popular even in PVC systems, because valves and joints are areas where the system is the weakest. Adding CPVC to a PVC system increases the strength at these weaker points.
CPVC ball valves can be either true union or three-way. True union CPVC ball valves are easily removed from the system to repair or replace the main part of the valve. Three-way valves allow for the connection of three pipes, either to mix two flows into one or to add a flow to an existing system. These valves come in a range of sizes, from compact CPVC ball valves less than an inch in diameter to large valves with nearly 12 inches of diameter.
