Polypropylene fittings are available in a wide range of sizes to connect straight pipe or tubing sections. Polypropylene Fittings are most often used in industrial applications that use corrosive materials due to its resistance to strong acids, bases, and most organic solvents. These fittings are characterized into several types such as concentric reducer, 90˚ and 45˚ elbows, coupling, end cap, and female adapter to name a few. Polypropylene can be used in high heat applications up to 200˚F. Properties of Polypropylene that make it a chosen material are its ease of installation by heat fusion to create a stronger bond with the pipe, lightweight material, fatigue resistance, chemical and corrosion resistance, and its overall tenacity. Its strength comes from the in-line annealing process that creates a stress relieved fitting that has superior chemical resistance properties, reduced stress cracking, and greater resistance than other plastic fittings available. Typical industrial applications where polypropylene fittings are used are plumbing applications, water reclamation, and heating and cooling.

AlphaPlus® Polypropylene is compatible with a broader range of chemicals than other piping materials such as FRP and CPVC, and handles temperature ranges from 35°F-200°F. Both systems outperform and offer significant cost savings when compared to CPVC, FRP, lined steel, and exotic alloys.
