CPVC Duct Blind Flange

CPVC duct blind flanges are commonly used to tie off the end of a duct line. They attach using bolts like a standard flange, but instead of having an opening for duct pipe, blind flanges have a solid face. CPVC duct blind flanges may be installed temporarily to close a line during construction, or permanently to create the end of a duct run.

Our CPVC duct blind flanges are available in a range of sizes from 2” through 24”. The bolt holes are 5/16” diameter. Blind flanges are generally connected to a standard flange to “cap” off the line. The advantage of using a blind flange over a cap is that one can remove the flange at any time to continue or reconfigure the duct line.

CPVC is similar to PVC in that it is cost efficient, lightweight, and easy to work with. Like our Schedule 80 CPVC products, CPVC duct comes in a light gray color to distinguish it from other materials. Smaller size CPVC duct can be installed using solvent cement welding. This involves primer and cement that is specially formulated to bond CPVC. Larger size duct pipe (14” diameter and above) should be installed using hot air welding.

Unlike standard PVC and CPVC pipe, duct has a very thin wall that is designed to handle exhaust, drain, and fumes. CPVC has a maximum temperature rating of 200 degrees Fahrenheit (higher than PVC material). CPVC duct systems are also available in large sizes for industrial uses.
