Why LabWaste® Accessories Matter
The Spears LabWaste® system is designed and certified as a complete system. Pipe, fittings, accessories, and solvent cement are all manufactured from CPVC and tested together to meet ASTM F 2618 for chemical waste drainage. Using LabWaste® accessories rather than generic alternatives ensures that every component in your system carries the same corrosion resistance, temperature tolerance up to 200°F continuous service, and code compliance as the rest of the installation. Substituting non-LabWaste® components may compromise system integrity and is not covered under the Spears warranty.
Accessories We Carry
Floor Drains
Floor Drains are available for connection to 1-1/2" through 4" drainage pipe. Standard models include an adjustable 5" round CPVC grate. Stainless steel grates are also available in 5", 6", 7", and 8" diameters for higher-traffic or heavier-duty installations. An optional 1/8" perforated CPVC sediment strainer can be added to trap debris. All floor drains are available with an optional membrane plate for clamping the housing to waterproof membranes in floor installations.
Floor Cleanouts
Floor Cleanouts provide access to the drainage system for inspection and maintenance. Standard models feature a 5" round adjustable stainless steel access cover with a solid top. Available in 1-1/2" through 4" sizes. Like floor drains, cleanouts are available with an optional membrane plate.
Jar Traps
Jar Traps provide a seal against sewer gases in laboratory sink and fixture connections. The jar design allows easy removal for cleaning without disturbing the rest of the drainage line. Available with spigot x hub connections.
P-Traps
P-Traps serve the same gas-sealing function as jar traps and are used where a standard P-trap configuration is preferred. Adjustable models are available with CPVC nuts for secure, hand-tightened connections. Available in hub x hub configuration.
Tail Pieces
Tail Pieces connect sink drains and other fixtures to the trap or waste line below. These are sized to match standard laboratory sink outlets and LabWaste® drainage pipe.
Solvent Cement
Solvent Cement is the Spears-specified bonding agent for all LabWaste® CPVC socket connections. Using the correct LabWaste® solvent cement per ASTM F 493 is required for a sound, code-compliant joint. It is not interchangeable with standard PVC or general-purpose CPVC cement.
Standards and Certifications
All Spears LabWaste® CPVC accessories are part of the certified LabWaste® system, which meets the following standards:
- ASTM F 2618: CPVC pipe and fittings for chemical waste drainage systems, certified by NSF International
- IAPMO IGC 210, compliant with the Uniform Plumbing Code, UPC
- ICC-ES PMG-1018, compliant with the International Plumbing Code, IPC
- NSF ORD 1022 for use in Canada
- UL 2818 GREENGUARD GOLD certified for low chemical emissions, providing eligibility for LEED credits
