RathGibson-branded metal tube with an open end resting across other shiny tubes

RathGibson manufactures precision stainless steel and specialty alloy tubing and pipe for industrial, energy, and process applications. Its portfolio includes welded, welded and drawn, and seamless tubing, with straight-length and coil forms and surface finishes suited to different project requirements.

For RathGibson sourcing inquiries, send Commercial Industrial Supply your required dimensions, alloy, construction, and quantity. Request a quote so CIS can review your requirements and confirm sourcing options for the specific tubing you need.

RathGibson Product Categories

The categories below describe RathGibson’s manufacturing portfolio. Contact CIS to confirm sourcing options for a particular product and specification.

Welded Tubing

RathGibson produces welded tubing by roll-forming metal strip and fusion-welding it along a longitudinal seam without filler metal. Specify the required alloy, outside diameter, wall thickness, and finish so the requested tubing can be evaluated against the project specification.

Welded and Drawn Tubing

This construction starts with welded tubing that is subsequently redrawn to its final size. RathGibson identifies welded and drawn tubing as an option for heavy-wall-to-diameter combinations that cannot be welded directly to size. Its welded and drawn tubes are bright annealed.

Seamless Tubing

RathGibson’s seamless tubing is drawn from tube hollows produced by billet piercing or hot extrusion. Its Greenville Tube operation manufactures small-diameter, precision cold-drawn seamless tubing and pipe. Identify seamless construction explicitly when it is required by your drawing or purchase specification.

Mechanically Polished and Electropolished Tubing

RathGibson offers mechanical polishing and electropolishing for applications where the tubing surface finish is an important selection factor, including food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and biopharmaceutical processing. Provide separate inside- and outside-surface requirements rather than requesting “polished tubing” alone.

Industries and Applications Served

RathGibson identifies oil and gas, power generation, renewable energy, chemical and petrochemical processing, food, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, and general commercial markets among the industries it serves. Its tubing portfolio addresses different process and equipment needs, making construction, alloy, dimensions, and surface condition important points of comparison.

For food, beverage, and pharmaceutical projects, define the required surface finish and cleaning or packaging requirements. For energy and chemical-processing service, provide the process fluid, operating temperature, and internal or external pressure conditions for engineering review. An alloy name or nominal size alone does not establish suitability for the application.

Choosing the Right RathGibson Products

Begin with the drawing, existing tube markings, or purchase specification. Identify whether the requirement is welded, welded and drawn, or seamless. State the outside diameter and wall thickness with units and tolerances, and distinguish tubing dimensions from nominal pipe size. Include the required straight length or coil form, total footage or piece count, and any cutting requirements.

Specify the exact alloy designation rather than “stainless steel.” RathGibson’s materials directory includes grades such as 304/304L and 316/316L, alongside duplex stainless steels, nickel alloys, and other specialty materials. These are manufacturer portfolio examples, not confirmation that every grade is available through CIS.

For polished tubing, state the required inside- and outside-surface roughness, measurement units, and whether mechanical polishing or electropolishing is specified. Include applicable material or product standards, inspection and testing requirements, traceability documents, and protective packaging instructions. Have the responsible engineer confirm pressure, temperature, corrosion, and fabrication requirements before approving a substitution.
