Industries and Applications Served
United Industries’ published applications span dairy and food processing, pharmaceutical and biotechnology production, heat-transfer equipment, automotive exhaust, HVAC equipment, and ornamental fabrication. The common product is welded stainless steel tubing, but the required material, finish, dimensions, and inspection criteria vary by application.
For sanitary and biopharmaceutical projects, define the required internal surface condition, cleaning, and protective packaging. For heat exchangers and fabricated components, identify straightness, weld condition, dimensional tolerances, and downstream forming requirements. Confirm the selected alloy and tube construction against the operating medium, temperature, and pressure with the responsible engineer.
Choosing the Right United Industries Products
Begin with the manufacturer part number or an approved drawing. Include the exact stainless steel grade, tube outside diameter, wall thickness, length, tolerances, and quantity. Distinguish tubing dimensions from nominal pipe size, and state whether cut lengths or special end preparation are required.
Specify internal and external finishes separately. For BPE inquiries, identify SF1 or SF4 and whether the requested material is to be supplied ready for electropolishing or with the final electropolished finish. Include any surface roughness limits with units, applicable specification revisions, and required inspection or material documentation.
For bending, expansion, flaring, or other fabrication, provide the relevant drawing and fit requirements. Visible ornamental components also need an agreed appearance standard. These details help prevent quotations for tubing that shares a nominal size but differs in finish, tolerances, or intended processing.
