Keep the Structural Attachment Distinct from the Pipe Support
A beam clamp connects the support assembly to the structure; it does not replace the hanger or clamp that contacts the pipe. This distinction helps separate beam-flange fit, rod attachment, and pipe support into their individual requirements. Each connection needs to suit the intended load path.
Compare Molded and Fabricated Configurations
The existing product sample includes molded and fabricated beam-clamp descriptions. These are different constructions, not interchangeable labels. Store product titles identify more than one resin designation among fabricated items, so the selected item should control the material description rather than an older category-wide statement. No shared capacity is implied across the range.
Check Geometry and Load Direction
Beam flange dimensions, available clearance, threaded-rod connection, and installation orientation affect the selection. Review the actual assembly drawing and product instructions before treating an attachment as suitable for a structural member. Do not infer approval to drill, weld, or alter a beam from the existence of a clamp category.
Coordinate the Complete Hanging Assembly
The beam connection, rod, couplings, fasteners, and pipe hanger operate as an assembly. The capacity of one component does not establish the capacity of the complete support. For replacements, identify the existing connection and any limits on changing the supported position.
