Our SAF-T-FLO sampling probes are designed to meet commercial and industrial demands. They come in two types – Retractable Sampling Probes and Non-Retractable Sampling Probes. Retractable sampling probes can be removed from the main line at pressures under 150 psi. Non-retractable probes use threaded ends to install the unit into place. The line must be shut down for the probe to be removed or serviced.
There are positives and negatives to both types of probe, and one or the other may lend itself best to a specific application. Retractable sampling probes come in three probe diameters: ¼ inch, 3/8 inch, and ½ inch. These models include a stainless steel hook and chain system that secures the probe to the main and restricts the sampling probe from pulling away during withdrawal.
