Mechanical Flow Meters are used to measure flow using a composition of moving parts by passing fluid or gas through a series of chambers or gears. A flow measurement is obtained by counting the number of passed isolate volumes of gas or fluid. A Mechanical Flow meter is available in a wide variety of types to accommodate specific measuring needs for different applications.

Clamp On flow meters are attached just as they sound - with clamps. A hole is drilled directly in the top of the pipeline, and the meter is installed in the new opening. Rotameters, often called variable area meters, are typically made out of glass with a float inside that is raised up by fluid flow and down by gravity. This type of meter is typically used with water or air measurement. Another common type is a paddlewheel. That has sensors on paddles that can measure flow in either direction and offers superior accuracy and ease of installation. Many industries use Mechanical Flow Meters for measurement applications that include water treatment systems, pools, deionized water manufacturing, solar panel manufacturers, and reverse osmosis systems.
